BRITISH COLUMBIA – On Sept. 18 the CFO of Anglo American's metallurgical coal business, Brent Waldron, presented a cheque for $2.566 million the BC minister of forests, lands and natural resource operations, Hon. Steve Thomson, to support the government's Peace Northern Caribou Plan.

Waldron said he was proud to personally present the cheque, the largest funding contribution made by a mining company for caribou mitigation measures under the plan.

The contribution was made as part of Anglo's Trend-Roman coal project, an expansion of its Peace River mine near Tumbler Ridge.

The company's website is at AngloAmerican.com.au.
