QUEBEC – Metanor Resources of Val d’Or, Que., continues to cut high gold grades, including new zones, at its Barry project 100 km east of Lebel sur Quevillon in the Urban-Barry gold belt. The new gold-bearing zones are below and outside the pit area. [caption id="attachment_1003718703" align="alignleft" width="440"] A section view of the Barry gold project looking west. The best assay was from hole 17-76, 9.9 g/t gold over 4.0 metres at about 365 metres below surface. Other highlights include hole 17-70 with 5.1 g/t over 8.0 metres, 9.7 g/t over 4.0 metres, and 5.3 g/t over 8.0 metres. Metanor also drilled the extension of a gold-bearing zone of over 250 metres in length near surface and southwest of the pit design as outlined in the preliminary economic assessment. Best results here were 11.5 g/t gold (9.0 cut) over 4.0 m metres, 2.7 g/t over 9.5 metres, 2.5 g/t over 14.5 metres, and 4.0 g/t over 15.1 metres. Grades appear to increase with depth, down to 175 metres. Last year’s positive PEA considered an open pit gold mine. Additional drilling details are available in the news release of June 8, 2017, posted at www.Metanor.ca.
