VANCOUVER – Earlier this week, the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum held its annual general meeting and trade show in this west coast city. Among the highlights was the awards ceremony honouring many of the best in this country's mining industry.
Here are some of the highlights:
John T. Ryan Safety Trophies – Teck Coal's Greenhills operations (coal mines), Cameco's McArthur River mine and Barrick Gold's, Williams mine (metal mines), and in the select mines category, Graymont's Bedford plant, Graymont Western's Faulkner plant, and Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan's New Brunswick Division.
