SASKATCHEWAN - The Mallard tailings management facility (TMF) at Golden Band Resources' La Ronge gold project has received approval for construction and re-commissioning to make it ready for operations by the end of 2012. The TMF will have a capacity to hold three years' of tails, based on a milling rate of 700 t/d.

Golden Band bought and restarted the Jolu gold mill to achieve production in January 2011 and has been using an alternative, above ground tailings containment strategy.

The company is also busy at the Fireweed prospect at Upper Waddy Lake. See the photos from that project at www.GoldenBandResources.com.
