NEW BRUNSWICK – Slam Exploration, headquartered in Miramichi, NB, has begun site excavation for taking a bulk sample from its Maisie gold deposit, part of its Menneval claims near the town of the same name. The company has also taken delivery of a hammer mill, classifier and two shaker tables with which to process the bulk sample. An excavator will be used to extract the sample from known shoots of high grade mineralization at surface. Slam has a licence of occupation that authorizes it to mine and process samples from Maisie over a two-year period. It has approval to take up to 2,000 tonnes as a bulk sample. No drilling or blasting will be done, and no chemicals will be used in processing the material. A 42-kg sample was treated earlier this year. Slam says it has posted a video of the test plant in operation at www.SlamExploration.com, but this writer was unable to find it.
