Century Iron Mines of Toronto has appointed Hubert Vallee to the position of senior VP logistic, mine development and operations. A veteran of Cliffs Natural Resources and Consolidated Thompson, he will initially focus on logistical solutions for the company's Labrador Trough and Duncan Lake projects.

Timothy G. Smith has been promoted to VP and COO at Vancouver-based Fire River Gold. He previously served as VP operations at the company's Nixon Fork mine in Alaska.

The new COO of Foraco International in Toronto is Claude Durocher. He is the former president of Schlumberger Canada.

Vancouver-based Peregrine Diamonds has hired Tom Peregoodoff as its new executive VP business development. His career spans over 25 years, including 18 years with BHP Billiton, including a posting as commercial manager of diamonds. Peregrine recently bought out BHP Billiton's interest in the Chidliak diamond project on Baffin Island, NU.
