Toronto-based Chieftain Metals has chosen Paul Chawrun as its next executive VP corporate development. A mining engineer, he has worked for Suncor, Fording Coal and Dynatec. Most recently Chawrun was director of technical services for Detour Gold.
New Millennium Iron Corp. of Westmount, QC, has made two recent changes to its management team. Dean Journeaux is now president and CEO, replacing Robert A. Martin. Journeaux is a veteran of Quebec Cartier Mining and Met-Chem Canada. Also, Ernest Dempsey has been named VP investor relations and corporate affairs. His 35-plus-year career includes roles with Mitsubishi Metals, Iron Ore Co. of Canada and Cleveland-Cliffs.
William Faust is the new COO at US Gold of Toronto. He will direct the company's activities in Mexico and Nevada, including the El Gallo and Gold Bar projects.
