Freegold Ventures of Vancouver has named Alvin W. Jackson its new VP exploration and development following the departure of Michael Gross. The company has also named Garnet Dawson, VP exploration of Brazilian Gold, to the Freegold board or directors.

Vancouver-based i-minerals inc. has appointed a new president and CEO, Thomas M. Conway. He is a mining engineer from the University of Minnesota and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He had a long career with Newmont Mining before taking up his new duties.

Bob Gallaher, a veteran of Placer Dome and Newmont Mining, has joined the board of Vancouver's Southern Arc Minerals.

The new CEO of Vancouver-based Uranium One is Chris Sattler. He was formerly the company's executive VP of corporate development and investor relations. He has a mining engineering degree from Queen's University and an MBA from London Business School. Sattler replaces Jean Nortier who left for personal reasons and has returned to South Africa.

Victoria Gold of Toronto has announced the resignation of Chad Williams as president and CEO. He is replaced by John McConnell who has over 30 years experience including President and CEO of Western Keltic Mines until its takeover by Sherwood Copper, VP NWT projects of De Beers Canada responsible for the development of the Snap Lake diamond mine, and general manager of the Nanisivik base metal mine on the northern tip of Baffin Island.
