Toronto-based Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada has named Andrew Cheatle its new executive director, effective Feb. 2. He is charged with maintaining the PDAC's strategic focus on access to capital, access to land and aboriginal affairs, as well as continuing to build the PDAC brand domestically and internationally. Prior to his appointment, Cheatle was president and CEO at Unigold Inc.

Astur Gold Corp. of Vancouver has appointed director Douglas Turnbull as CEO and president. He is a consulting geologist with over 25 years of experience. Turnbull replaces Cary Pinkowski.

Vancouver's Lundin Gold has hired Anthony George as VP project development. The company recently purchased the Fruta del Norte gold and base metals project in Ecuador.

David Felderhof is now executive VP at Orex Exploration in Montreal. He is a former investment advisor with BMO Nesbitt Burns.

Williams Creek Gold of Vancouver has named Stephen M. Leahy the new CEO of the company. He is a past chairman and CEO of North American Tungsten, past president and board member of the International Tungsten Industry Association, and a director of the Mining Association of Canada from 2011 to 2013. Former Williams Creek CEO Jim Wyant has retired.
