NEW WEBSITE: Yukon’s mineral industry showcased

WHITEHORSE, Yukon — A new website, www.MiningYukon.com, was launched on Nov. 20, 2009, to promote the exploration and mining industries in the territory. The site contains information on everything from current geological data on Yukon mineral deposits to the regulatory approval process.

This new site is a joint initiative between the Department of Economic Development and the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources. This innovative Internet portal will complement existing web-based information sources. Improved access to information will sharpen the focus of mining promotion in Yukon and consolidate a wealth of data to build awareness of opportunities for investment in Yukon's resource sector.

The Yukon government developed this site, with funding from the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency's (CanNor) Strategic Investments in Northern Economic Development (SINED) initiative to increase international knowledge of the Yukon mineral industry and to promote Yukon as a good place to work and invest.
