NEW BRUNSWICK – Trevali Mining Corp. of Vancouver has declared commercial production at the Caribou zinc mine in the Bathurst mining camp. June was a record setting month for Caribou. More than 73,000 tonnes of ore were milled, and the plant averaged 2,876 t/d. From the ore, 7,282 tonnes of zinc concentrate and 2,446 tonnes of lead concentrate were produced. The zinc con graded 47% Zn and 161.1 g/t Au, and the lead con graded 43% Pb and 737.0 g/t Ag. Trevali says it continues to focus on metallurgical improvements in the mill. Modifications are underway and will be completed during scheduled shutdowns. Work includes increasing the number of sample stations for the on-stream analyzer; installing new lifters and liners in the SAG mill; and modification to the pumping infrastructure. Additional trials are underway and a copper circuit may be added in the future. Production guidance for the last six months of 2016 is 37 million to 41 million lb of zinc, 14 million to 15 million lb of lead, and 380,000 to 420,000 oz of silver. Additional details about the Caribou mine and mill are posted at www.Trevali.com.
