ZINC-SILVER EXPLORATION: Two high grade zones cut at Abcourt-Barvue

QUEBEC - Drilling by Abcourt Mines of Mont-St-Hilaire, QC, has intersected two high grade zinc-silver zones at depth from 150 to 200 metres from the surface at its Abcourt-Barvue deposit 60 km north of Val d'Or. The current drill program was designed to increase 43-101 numbers and justify boosting the milling capacity to 1.0 million t/y from 650,000 t/y. Both open pit and underground production is likely.

Of the six holes drilled, five intersected the two high grade zones. Core from the first zone assayed 184.34 g/t Ag and 2.58% Zn over 2.96 metres. Core from the second assayed 112.06 g/t Ag and 4.92% Zn over 3.57 metres.

The former Abcourt-Barvue mine was active from 1952 to 1957 and again from 1975 to 1990. During that time it produced 8.87 million oz of silver and 394.0 million lb of zinc.
