Canadian Zinc Corp and the Nahanni Butte Dene Band have just signed an Impact Benefit Agreement with respect to the development and operation of the Prairie Creek Mine, located within the traditional territory of the NBDB in the Northwest Territories.
The agreement provides a framework such that training, employment and business contracts are made available to Nahanni to help ensure maximization of benefits from opportunities arising from the mining project.
The Prairie Creek Mine, a zinc/lead/silver property, is located about 90 km to the northwest of the community of Nahanni Butte and the route of the access road connecting the property to the Liard Highway passes within 5 km of the community.
