ALASKA – Under diamond drilling at the Nixon Fork gold project in the Tintina Gold Belt has returned assays as high as 219.1 g/t Au over 3.34 metres for owner Fire River Gold of Vancouver. The drilling was undertaken as part of a program to expand reserves in the Crystal mine.
The company reported other high grades including 214.0 g/t over 1.10 metres, 186.18 g/t over 1.55 metres, and 1,120.0 g/t over 1.50 metres. Some of the wider intercepts were 9.14 metres at 9.76 g/t, 4.13 metres at 29.79 g/t, and 3.73 metres at 32.86 g/t Au.
The Fire River mine is a former gold producer reopened by Fire River in 2011. Production is to be 40,000 oz of gold in 2013 and 50,000 oz in 2014. Further information is posted at FireRiverGold.com.
