QUEBEC – There has been a new discovery of a nickel-copper-cobalt showing in the  James Bay area by the 50:50 joint venture of Montreal’s Midland Exploration and Altius Minerals of St. John’s, Nfld. A grab sample from an outcrop tested 1.07% nickel, 0.24% copper and 0.09% Co. Another outcrop from about 100 metres away returned 0.46% nickel with a low sulphur value of 1.11%. Since the discovery, Midland and Altius have acquired 104 more claims covering the interpreted extent of the mafic intrusive rocks hosting the mineralization. Exploration follow-up is planned.
