First Phosphate’s (CSE: PHOS) management team and board were in New York City Thursday morning to ring the Nasdaq opening bell in celebration of the company's recent listing on the Nasdaq global market.
Now officially trading under PHOS on Nasdaq, the Quebec-based explorer, said the event acknowledged the company’s journey from its founding to building a major part of the North American battery-supply chain.
“We are pleased to be able to offer accessibility in the shares of First Phosphate to investors around the world who wish exposure to rare North American igneous phosphate,” said John Passalacqua, First Phosphate’s CEO. “It has been our goal since the outset to build Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, Quebec into the mine-to-market lithium iron phosphate battery valley of North America.”
The announcement follows agreements earlier this year that formalized international investment for the development of the First Phosphate’s Bégin-Lamarche mine in northern Quebec.
Following its Nasdaq debut, the company’s shares rose 5.32% on Canadian markets.
