QUEBEC – Rio Tinto is pledging $250 million to extend operations of the Vaudreuil alumina refinery in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region. The cash infusion will extend the life of the plant beyond 2022. The project includes building a filtration plant and optimizing the Jonquiere complex bauxite residue site.
