SANTIAGO, Chile - SRMINING 2011, the First International Seminar on Social Responsibility in Mining, has issued a call for papers to be delivered a year from now. The seminar themes will cover all aspects of CSR in dealing with human rights, labour practices, community empowerment, dealing with conflicts, artisanal mining, and more.
The event will be held Oct. 19-21, 2011, at the Sheraton Santiago Hotel & convention Centre. The objectives are to strengthen understanding, discuss complex social issues, share experience and practice, and to build networks of like-minded individuals.
Interested authors are invited to submit a 300-word abstract in English to [email protected]. Abstracts must clearly state the objectives and describe a summary of the obtained results.
