MEXICO – Sandvik Mining has officially opened a new corporate building in Guadalajara. The new US$7.5-million building includes offices and service workshops covering a total surface of 4,900 m2.

“The inauguration of these offices demonstrate our confidence, not only in the local mining industry, but also in the Mexican economy’s growth possibilities and stability”, said David Gardner, president of Sandvik Mining Americas.

The mining sector is the major employer in Mexico, the largest private investor and the sector that most commitments make to implement world class standards to ensure sustainable development.

The ceremony was also attended by the Swedish ambassador to Mexico, Jorgen Persson; the president of the municipality of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Alberto Uribe Camacho; the business development secretary of the government of Jalisco, Jaime Eduardo Martínez Flores; the investment projects deputy director at ProMexico, Elizabeth Tello Casillas; as well as workers and representatives from clients of Sandvik Mining Mexico.
