HELSINKI - LAROX has received two large orders for filtration equipment and accessories from mining and engineering companies in Australia and Chile. Total value of the orders is ?9.2 million (Cdn$13.9 million).

OXIANA LTD., the owner of the Prominent Hill copper-gold project in South Australia, has ordered a large Larox PF automatic pressure filter for dewatering its copper concentrates. The new mine is expected to begin production in the second half of 2008 at a rate of 104,000 t of copper in concentrate and 115,000 oz of gold annually.

SNC-LAVALIN CHILE has ordered several different types of filters for the Las Cruces greenfield copper project in Spain. The delivery includes a large Larox PF filter, Pannevis RM horizontal belt filters, and Sheibler polishing filters for various applications in the leaching, solvent extraction and electrowinning circuits. Las Cruces (70% owned by INMET MINING) will begin production early next year. The plant has a design capacity of 72,000 t/y of copper.
