ONTARIO – Kirkland Lake Gold, of the town of the same name, says recent underground diamond drilling has extended the mineralization of the South gold mine to a point further east than ever before. Hole 43-2111A returned 101.8 g/t (uncut) over a true width of 3.0 metres. The total strike length estimated to date is 1,066.8 metres.

The bonanza gold grades just keep coming. Two holes in an inferred resource area in the New South zone returned 159.1 g/t (uncut) over a true width of 5.3 metres and 118.3 g/t (uncut) over 1.6 metres true width. Another hole tested potential footwall mineralization with three footwall zones intersected including 8,9 g.t over a true width of 1.6 metres, a second zone assaying 72.7 g/t (uncut) over a true width of 1.3 metres, and a third zone assaying 104.9 g/t over a core length of 305 mm.

Meanwhile, development at the mine is proceeding on the 5300 level exploration drift that now extends 30 metres east along the HM-North Amalgamated claim boundary. The drift will eventually reach the Kirkland Minerals, Teck Hughes and Lakeshore properties.
