QUEBEC – As Metanor Resources of Val d’Or, QC, prepares to reopen the Barry open pit mine in the Urban-Barry greenstone belt, the recent diamond drilling campaign turned up long, and reasonably strong intersections in the cores. Two holes confirm the extension of the main pit to the southeast with grades and thicknesses suitable for open pit mining.
  • MB-16-11 assayed 2.3 g/t Au over 60 metres including 4.6 g/t over 18 metres.
  • MB-16-10 assayed 1.3 g/t Au over 55 metres including 3.7 g/t over 12 metres.
Metanor now plans to re-examine the results using a new mineralization model and make a resource estimate. A further 15,000 metres of drilling may be completed to further assess the potential for a major pit. The Barry property is 116 km from the company’s producing Bachelor gold mine and mill.
