ONTARIO – Armistice Resources Corp. of Toronto is pushing ahead with infrastructure projects at its McGarry gold mine in Virginiatown as the mine gets closer to commercial production. The improvements are aimed at boosting production efficiency on the 2250 level.

The loading pocket on the east side of the shaft at the 2250 level has been rehabilitated, and a new loading pocket built. Both ore and waste can be  handled in the compartments. With the completion of a grizzly and loading chute, the skipping capacity has been doubled.

Underground maintenance facilities on the 2250 level have been excavated. Final touch-up shotcreting of the main shop and the pouring of concrete floors is underway. The mine will then be home to a maintenance shop, wash bay and fuel bay.

Improvements to the secondary underground sump system have been made. Secondary sumps have been installed in the 325N stoping area and the shaft bottom. The secondary sumps will reduce the amount of suspended solids in the main sumps.

The McGarry Mine is adjacent to the Kerr Addison gold mine property that produced from 1938 to 1996 more than 11 million oz of gold. Armistice has signed a five-year option for the purchase of up to 100% of the mineral rights on the Kerr Addison property. See also Armistice.ca.
