ONTARIO – The Wawa gold project close to the town of the same name is the target of drilling by Red Pine Exploration of Toronto, and the company is finding more mineralized zones in both the hanging wall and footwall of the Surluga deposit.

Mineralization in the hanging wall included 2 metres at 13.65 g/t Au, 12.16 metres at 3.39 g/t, 2 metres at 5.66 g/t, and 4.12 metres at 3.32 g/t.

In the footwall, drilling intersected 1.00 metre at 51.7 g/t Au, 10.27 metres at 3.01 g/t, and 9.85 metres at 3.16 g/t.

The Wawa project (namely the Surluga deposit) has an inferred resource of 22.36 million tonnes grading 1.49 g/t Au and containing 1.01 million oz. It is open along strike and at depth. Red Pine says the property has strong indications that gold bearing shear zones and high grade quartz veins may be stacked in the footwall and the hanging wall of the deposit.
