GOLD: Sage signs milling contract with Primero

ONTARIO – Sage Gold of Toronto has signed a toll milling agreement with Primero Mining Corp. for the treatment of up to 200,000 t/y of ore from Sage’s Clavos gold mine located 46 km northeast of Timmins. A total of 1.1 million tonnes will be treated at Primero’s Stock mill over the seven-year life of the mine. Sage will begin ore shipments to the mill next July, and the first batch of material will probably be treated in September 2017. The haul road between the Clavos underground mine and the mill will be jointly owned by Sage and Primero. Sage is working on a reserve estimate and pre-feasibility study for the Clavos project. The company has received a change of status from the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines allowing the mine to be dewatered and rehabilitated, eventually producing up to 700 t/d.
