ONTARIO – St Andrew Goldfields has given the green light for commercial production at its Taylor gold project 53 km east of Timmins. The decision comes on the heels of a successful bulk sample processing program completed last month.

The Taylor property hosts two near surface areas of mineralization, the Shoot zone and the deeper West Porphyry zone (WPZ). In 2014, SAS completed 2,000 metres of ramp development to access to the 1004 lens at the WPZ. There it drilled more than 100 holes off the main ramp on the 220-, 250- and 305-metre sublevels. A bulk sample of 17,540 tonnes was also collected.

Processing of the bulk sample achieved an average head grade of 9.01 g/t Au and a recovery rate of 97.4%.

The Taylor project has proven and probable reserves of 736,000 tonnes averaging 5.63 g/t Au and containing 133,000 oz of gold. There are also 2.07 million measured and inferred tonnes at 4.54 g/t and 1.94 million inferred tonnes at 4.32 g/t.

SAS plans to spend an additional $50 million to bring the new mine into production at a rate of 41,000 oz per year.
