BRITISH COLUMBIA – Spanish Mountain Gold of Vancouver has been examining its plans for the Spanish Mountain gold project 70 km northeast of Williams Lake. A number of changes to the 2010 preliminary economic assessment are being considered including:

  • A 25,000-t/d mill that will expand to 40,000-t/d after three years.
  • A potential extension of the project life to 14 years from 10 years.
  • A review of waste storage alternatives to minimize the storage footprint.
  • Moving certain infrastructure, including the mill, to minimize haulage distances from the pit.
  • Further consideration of power line alternatives.

Spanish Mountain plans to release the completed PEA in October 2012.
