GOLD: Wesdome drills bonanza grades from new zone at Eagle River

ONTARIO – Wesdome Gold Mines of Toronto says the 7 zone, discovered last year 200 metres north of and parallel to the producing 8 zone, has returned bonanza grades from recent drilling at depth. The company owns 100% of the Eagle River gold mine 50 km west of Wawa.

Here are the highlights:

• EU-753    30.54 g/t Au over 1.42 metres true width
• EU-754    28.33 g/t Au over 3.13 metres true width
• EU-755    16.48 g/t Au over 2.19 metres true width
• EU-756    89.94 g/t Au over 2.32 metres true width
• EU-757     7.93 g/t Au over 1.41 metres true width
• EU-758     5.13 g/t Au over 3.10 metres true width
• EU-759    16.53 g/t Au over 2.02 metres true width

Note that the highest grade was 89.94 g/t or better than 2.6 opt. Wesdome says that drilling has demonstrated high grades, good width and continuity at depth and towards the west where the zone remains open.

Gold mineralization at Eagle River is hosted by east-west striking, steeply north dipping laminated quartz veins. The veins occur as tabular lenses occupying shear zones following the long axis of a 2.0 km by 0.5 km elongate quartz diorite stock. Since opening in 1995 the mine has produced 988,070 oz of gold.
