IRON ORE STUDY: Bloom Lake production to double to 16 million t/y

LABRADOR - Consolidated Thompson Iron Mines of Montreal has completed a feasibility study to double production at the Bloom Lake mine to 16 million t/y from 8 million t/y. This higher rate is to be achieved in Q3 2012.

The mine and mill began shipping concentrate only two months ago after an initial capital expenditure of US$333 million. The measured and indicated resources total 826.9 million tonnes averaging 29.4% Fe.
