Adventus Mining Corp. of Toronto has named Olivia Gamache its new director of environmental management and community development. Most recently she was environment and sustainability manager for Yamana Gold. She holds a BSc and MSc in chemical and environmental engineering from the University of Toronto.
Vancouver-based
Asanko Gold is making changes to its management team. Effective Aug. 1, 2019, Josephat (Joe) Zvaipa will be executive VP and COO based in the Johannesburg office. This move follows the recent appointment of Frederick Attakumah as executive VP and managing director of the mining operation in Ghana. As of that date, Peter Breese will retire from his management and board roles with the company.
The new chair of
Great Panther Mining in Vancouver is Jeffrey R. Mason. He succeeds R.W. (Bob) Garnett who will remain on the board.
McEwen Mining, headquartered in Toronto, has named Steven Woolfenden as VP environment and community affairs, and Stefan Spears is transitioning into the role of VP corporate development. Woolfenden has worked for the federal government and most recently Iamgold. Spears was formerly McEwen’s VP of projects.

Yale Simpson has been appointed chairman and Bryce Roxburgh president and CEO of Vancouver-based
Rugby Mining. The men are industry professionals, having been joint chairmen of Exeter Resource until it was sold in 2017. Paul Joyce will take up the roles of COO and director. Together the three men own about 24% of the company’s shares.
