Anfield Gold Corp. of Vancouver has appointed Andrew Storrie as president and COO. He will spearhead the company’s Coringa gold project in Brazil. Keith C. Minty is now the COO of Aurvista Gold Corp. in Montreal. He will be based in the company’s Toronto office. Toronto-based Barrick Gold has made two appointments of note lately. Mark Hill will take up the newly created position of chief investment officer. He was recently employed at Waterton Global Resource Management, and before that he was Barrick’s VP of evaluation and VP of capital projects. Secondly, George Bee will be VP for Lama and Frontera district development. He will focus on advancing a starter project option at Lama, the Argentinean side of the Pascua-Lama gold project. A modest, scalable underground option may prove to be feasible. Both appointments take effect Sept. 12, 2016. Kombat Copper of Toronto has strengthened its management team with the addition of Malcolm Campbell as COO, effective Nov. 1, 2016. Vancouver’s Orca Gold has reassembled the Red Back team to advance its Block 14 gold project in Sudan. The team includes CEO Richard P. Clark, COO Kevin J. Ross, and chairman Simon Jackson. Former CEO Hugh Stuart has resigned that position and will focus on his remaining duties as president. Bill Williams is now CEO of Vena Resources in Toronto. Martin Walter will continue in the position of president. Williams is an economic geologist with extensive experience in South America. Vena has a handful of exploration projects in Peru.
