MINING PEOPLE: Arizona Mining, Dundee Precious Metals, Goldeye, and Highbank Resources

Arizona Mining of Vancouver has named Jim Gowans president and CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2016. He was formerly co-president of Barrick Gold, managing director of Debswana Diamond, president and CEO of De Beers Canada, senior VP of International Nickel Indonesia, and executive VP at Placer Dome. A graduate of the University of British Columbia and the Banff School of Advanced Management, Gowans is also a past-president of the CIM and former director of the Conference Board of Canada. Marie-Anne Tawil has joined the board of Dundee Precious Metals in Toronto to coincide with the resignation of Derek Buntain. Goldeye Explorations of Toronto is consolidating its management structure, giving Robin Luke Webster the responsibilities of CEO as well as his current role as president. He also becomes a member of the board. Vancouver-based Highbank Resources has announced the retirement of Victor N. Bryant as CEO and president of the company. Those duties will be taken up by Jim Place who has held positions with government, engineering companies and environmental consultants.
