MINING PEOPLE: Athabasca Minerals, GFK Resources, Nevada Copper, PotashCorp, and Western Copper and Gold

Chris Greenwood has been named VP operations of Athabasca Minerals in Edmonton. He will be responsible for the development of the aggregate business in the Wood Buffalo region. Montreal’s GFK Resources has asked Tony Brisson to join its board of directors. He is a former director of the Quebec Mining Exploration Association. Nevada Copper Corp. of Vancouver has chosen Victor Bradley as its non-executive chairman of the board. With more than 50 years’ experience, he has founded, financed and operated several mining, development and exploration companies. David Delaney will retire as COO of Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan on Jan. 31, 2016. The company, based in Saskatoon, SK, says the presidents of its potash, nitrogen and phosphate business units will then report directly to president and CEO Jochen Tilk. Western Copper and Gold of Vancouver has named former CEO Dale Corman to the post of chairman. Dr. Paul Wells becomes president and CEO. The changes take effect on Feb. 1, 2016.
