MINING PEOPLE: Falco Pacific and Rubicon

Vancouver's Falco Pacific Resource Group has appointed Trent Mell its president, CEO and a director. Previously he was executive VP at AuRico Gold and held senior roles at Barrick Sherritt and North American Palladium. Mell holds a BA, BCL and LLB from McGill University, an LLM from Osgoode Hall and an executive MBA from the Schulich School of Business and Kellogg School of Management.

The new VP exploration at Rubicon Minerals Corp. in Toronto is Howard M. Bird. During his 25-plus-year career, he has worked in the Abitibi, Hemlo and Michipicoten gold camps as well as in Brazil, Mexico, Australia and many parts of Africa.
