Crosshair Exploration & Mining of Vancouver has named Stewart Wallis its new CEO. He has been president of the company since March 2009. Wallis replaces Mark J. Morabito, who will remain executive chairman of the board.

Dr. Lawrence A. Dick has been named a director of Vancouver-based Global Minerals. He is credited with major finds at Collahuasi (Chile), Can Can (Chile), Golden Bear (BC) and San Jose (Mexico). He was a co-founder of General Minerals Corp., which is now Sprott Resource Corp., and holds executive positions at a handful of other Canadian junior companies.

Toronto-headquartered Orvana Minerals has named Roland Horst its new CEO. He earned an MBA and an LLB from the University of Western Ontario, a MSc in geology from Laurentian University, and a BSc in geology from McGill University.

Vancouver's Sona Resources, owner of the Blackdome gold mine in British Columbia, has named John P. Thompson as president and CEO. Nick Ferris, who previously held those responsibilities, is now executive chairman of the board.

Pablo Marcet is now president of Waymar Resources in Toronto. He was a participant in the start-up of the Escondida copper mine in Chile. He is the holder of a masters degree in economic geology from Harvard University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
