MINING PEOPLE IN THE NEWS: Denison, Eagle Hill exploration, Great Basin Gold, Kirkland Lake Gold and Majescor

Denison Mines of Toronto again named Lukas Lundin to the role of chairman following the resignation of Jim Gill.

The former president and CEO of Noront Resources, Richard Nemis, and its former COO, John Harvey, have joined the board of directors at Eagle Hill Exploration of Vancouver. Jason Scharfe and Dan Hachey have resigned as directors of Eagle Hill.

Dana Roets has joined Vancouver-based Great Basin Gold as VP of corporate development. He holds a degree in mining engineering from the University of Pretoria and an MBA from the University of Cape Town. He was most recently VP of operation at the Kloof gold mine.

Kirkland Lake Gold of the small town of Kirkland Lake, ON, has a new COO and CFO. Mark Stephen Tessier, the new COO, has been VP operations at Kirkland Lake Gold since August 2008. The new CFO, John Sidney Thomson, has been acting CFO at the company for five years.

Montreal's Majescor Resources has named Daniel F. Hachey as president and CEO. His expertise is in capital markets and both public and private placements. Marc-Andre Bernier has stepped down from the CEO's chair to become VP of exploration.
