Andrew Gourlay has joined Vancouver-based Lions Gate Metals as VP of exploration. A graduate of the University of British Columbia, he brings nearly three decades of experience in the Americas and Asia to the post.

The new president and CEO of Vancouver's Emgold Mining is David G. Watkinson. He also assumes the role as president and CEO of Emgold's subsidiary Idaho-Maryland Mining. Watkinson was previously president and COO of Emgold and CEO of Idaho Maryland. By combining the CEO and COO duties, the company will cut overhead costs.

Moneta Porcupine Mines of Timmins, ON, has asked Richard Boulay to join its board of directors, subject to the approval of the TSX. Boulay is a geologist with over 40 years of experience in the exploration, mining and mining finance industries in Canada, the United States, Mexico and several Latin American countries. He has 15 years of mining and infrastructure financing experience gained with the Bank of Montreal, The Royal Bank of Canada and the Bank of Tokyo.

Changes have been made to the management of New Millennium Capital Corp. of Westmount, QC. The newly appointed officers are Moulaye Melainine as senior VP of development, Paul Wilkinson as VP environment and social affairs, Laurent Piette to VP and project manager of the DSO project, and Donna O'Quinn as field manager.

Vancouver-based Spanish Mountain Gold has named Ron Halas its new COO and project manager for the Spanish Mountain gold project in central British Columbia. Most recently, he was mine director at Vale Inco's Goro open pit nickel mine in new Caledonia.
