BRITISH COLUMBIA — Toronto-based Thompson Creek Metals is resuming work on its Endako molybdenum mill expansion that was postponed eight months ago. Higher second quarter production numbers and lower costs, coupled with expectations of higher realized moly prices during the last half of this year, allowed the company to make the decision.

The capacity of the Endako mill is to be expanded to 50,000 t/d from 28,000 t/d. Total cost of the project is $252 million, and it is to be completed in 2011.

Thompson Creek has a 75% interest in the mine and mill. The expansion still needs the okay from 25% partner Sojitz Corp.
