NON-FERROUS EXPLORATION: Pivert/Rose drilling reveals 2,900+ g/t Rb

QUEBEC — First Gold Exploration of Laval, QC, has reported that assays from its Pivert/Rose properties returned 2,922.8 g/t Rb over 4.47 metres, 2,244.5 g/t over 3.11 metres, and 1,571.7 g/t over 2.55 metres (all true widths). Those numbers would be excellent if they were found in a potential silver mine, even mind-boggling at a potential gold mine.

And that is not all the mineralization First Gold reported. Lithium, tantalum, niobium and beryllium were also assayed in promising amounts.

The Pivert/Rose properties lie within the Eastmain Greenstone Belt, 75 km south of Goldcorp's Eleanore gold deposit. First Gold's holdings have been described as hosting pegmatites that occur as irregular but continuous lenses within biotite schists. The company noted that the individual pegmatites can be up to 60 metres wide and more than 100 metres long. Collectively, they form larger bodies that can be kilometres long and up to 300 metres wide.

Rubidium has applications in specialty glass, fibre-optic systems, night-vision devices, photoelectric cells, etc.
