ALBERTA — Vancouver's Finning International has sold seven Caterpillar 787 mining trucks and nine D11 tracked dozers to Shell Canada for the Muskeg River oil sands mine. The equipment will be delivered during the fourth quarter of 2009. This additional equipment brings the Caterpillar fleet at the mine to over 200 machines.

The Muskeg River mine is part of the Athabasca Oil Sands Project, a joint venture among Shell Canada (60%), Chevron Canada (20%) and Marathon Oil Sands (20%). The Muskeg River mine, which utilizes conventional truck and shovel mining, has a design capacity of 155,000 barrels of bitumen per day. See
