Quebec gold mine gets Government approval

Conway Resources has just announced that it has received a certificate of authorization from Quebec's Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks for development work at its Belleterre gold mining project.

Conway Resources has just announced that it has received a certificate of authorization from Quebec's Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks for development work at its Belleterre gold mining project.

The company says it will start construction of the surface facilities this week, beginning with clearing activities and excavation of holding ponds.

 The work described in the application includes using Shaft No. 1 to dewater the mine to a depth of about 300 m, evacuation of a 1,429-m ramp form surface down to mine level 750, rehabilitation of drifts and crosscuts accessible from the shaft, excavation of 2,000 m of drifts and crosscuts along with about 20 drill bays, diamond drilling, and extraction of a 10,000-tonne bulk sample from Vein 14 and/or Vein 16 and/or some other structure identified by drilling.
