Roundup 2016: Premier Clark tells miners BC gov’t ‘has their back’

VANCOUVER — B.C. Premier Christy Clark spoke at the opening of this year’s Mineral Exploration Roundup convention, hosted by the Association of Mineral Exploration BC, and told attendees the provincial government “has their back.”

Clarke said the province is “still in a very good position,” touting infrastructure projects worth $7 billion without “the government going into deficit one penny.”

The private sector last year created 50,000 new jobs in the province, she noted, and her government en route to eliminate operating debt “for the first time in 40 years.”
