SILVER-ZINC: Canadian Zinc cuts 2,059 g/t Ag over 1.3 metres at Prairie Creek

NORTHWEST TERRITORIES – Vancouver's Canadian Zinc Corp. has completed its 2012 exploration program with a silver intercept of 2,059 g/t over 1.3 metres, additional high grade assays and a the definition of a strong geophysical anomaly defined near the mine. The work took place at the company's Prairie Creek silver-zinc-lead property about 500 km west of Yellowknife, in the South Mackenzie Mountains.

Diamond drilling was conducted both near the mine site and at Casket Creek. The bonanza silver grades were encountered near the mine. The hole that returned 2,059 g/t Ag also assayed 51.3% Pb+Zn over a different intercept of 1.0 metres. In deep drilling at Casket Creek one hole returned 4.23% Pb, 2.97% Zn and 31.4 g/t Ag between 1,763.14 and 1,764.04 metres below the surface. Casket Creek lies 1.6 km north of the current Prairie Creek mineralization.

The Prairie Creek project contains a mineral reserve of 5.2 million tonnes averaging 9.4% Zn, 9.5% Pb and 151 g/t Ag. In addition, Prairie Creek hosts an Inferred resource averaging 14.5% Zn, 11.5% Pb, 0.57% Co and 229 g/t Ag.
