UNDERGROUND AND PIT EQUIPMENT NEWS Australian Gold Mine Replaces Entire Fleet

Sandvik Mining and Construction subsidiary SANDVIK TAMROCK AUSTRALIA will deliver, service and support a complete new equipment fleet for BARRICK GOLD's Plutonic mine in Australia. Delivery of the first units is planned for May 2003 and all will be on site by September 2003.

The fleet includes both underground and open pit equipment. Sandvik Tamrock will supply Toro 0010, 006 and 1400 loaders; Toro 50D trucks; Axera 06 and 07 drills; Solo 06 and 07 drill rigs; Getman utility vehicles; and related equipment. The contract includes maintenance, parts, drilling tools, and training for a period of three years.
