ALBERTA – One of the highest grade intersections – 21.53% U3O8 over 4.0  metres – was recently drilled at the Patterson Lake South (PLS) joint venture in the southwest part of the Athabasca Basin. The exploration project is owned 50% by Fission Uranium (the operator) of Kelowna, BC, and 50% by Alpha Minerals of Vancouver.

The exceptional grade was drilled in hole PLS13-072 at a depth of roughly 90 to 95 metres. Higher up the hole, between 65 and 73 metres, a 7.5 metre length of core assayed 19.28% U3O8. These results were part of a 34.5 metre length that averaged 8.15% U3O8. There was also a half-metre section from 68.5 to 69.0 metres that assayed 47.0%.

Ross McElroy, president, COO, and chief geologist for Fission, commented, “We are continuing to see great results from PLS. Hole 072 in particular has intersected a superb mineralized interval with very high grades, wide intersections and particularly shallow depth.”
