BRITISH COLUMBIA – From New Gold of Vancouver comes an update on its New Gold gold-copper development near Kamloops. The project is on time with milling to being in June 2012.

Mining is proceeding at a rate of 4,200 t/d, and will eventually match mill capacity at 11,000 t/d. About 565,000 tonnes of ore grading 0.97 g/t Au and 1.04% Cu had been stockpiled to the end of March 2012. The underground crusher and conveyors are operational, and dry commissioning of the mill services is in progress.

At the Blackwater gold project near Prince George, New Gold says the best assay from diamond drill core was 47.49 g/t Au over 15 metres from a hole in the southern half of the deposit. The company is also performing an environmental baseline study and geotechnical drilling in anticipation of the preliminary economic assessment in Q3 2012.

Particulars of all New Gold projects are posted at NewGold.com.
