MINING PEOPLE: Cobalt Power, Copper Mountain, Encanto Potash, and Lydian

Cobalt Power Group of Toronto has named Creig Hutton as president and CEO. He has over 20 years of experience including as a mining analyst. Hutton replaces Andreas Rompel who retired. Gil Clausen is the new president and CEO of Copper Mountain Mining Corp. in Vancouver. He will replace James C. O’Rourke when he retires on June 1, 2018. Clausen is currently president and CEO of Brio Gold where he will complete his current obligations until the takeover by Leagold closes. Encanto Potash Corp. of Vancouver has asked Richard Lively to join the company after a long and distinguished career at Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan. Joao Carrelo is the new president and CEO of Toronto-based Lydian International following the resignation of Howard Stevenson. Carrelo previously served as president and CEO of Eco Oro Minerals (2012-14), as well as executive VP and COO of Lundin Mining (2007-12).
