[caption id="attachment_1003718610" align="alignright" width="219"] Roy Slack[/caption] Roy Slack, president of Cementation Canada, is to receive an honorary doctorate from Nippissing University during the North Bay convocation ceremonies on June 9, 2017. Aurania Resources of Toronto has appointed Dr. Richard Spencer as president. Dr. Keith Barron will retain his roles as CEO and chairman of the board. The new COO at Toronto-based Lydian International is Andrew Kaczmarek. He is a seasoned executive, bringing more than 40 years of experience to the post. He most recently served as independent technical advisor to Alacer Gold and Midway Gold, interim COO for Aurcana, and COO of Victoria Gold. Prior to that, Kaczmarek was VP of mine development for Alacer Gold and VP of development for Kinross Gold. Omineca Mining and Metals of Cranbrook, B.C., has named Tom MacNeill, a current director, its new president and CEO to replace Tim Termuende and Charles Downie. The company has appointed Sylvain Laberge, CEO of Tarku Resources as well as president and CEO of Gespeg Copper, to the board. Three other board members – Darren Fach, Neil MacDonald and Scott Broughton – have resigned. Effective immediately, Julien Davy will be the new president of Taku Resources and Benoit Lafrance will become exploration manager. Sylvain Laberge will retain his role as CEO.
