SUDBURY, ON – The final round of presentations for the inaugural Goodman Gold Challenge is set for Feb. 25, 2017 at Laurentian University.  The presentations will be followed by the awards gala presented by Kinross Gold in the Vale Cavern at Science North. The Goodman Gold Challenge is a unique investment mining management competition for undergraduate students. Unlike other competitions, participants will evaluate the investment potential of three gold companies (Detour Gold, Dundee Precious Metals and Osisko Mining) currently trading on the TSX or TSX-V. After thorough analysis, they will recommend to their top-tier clients, a single company for their portfolio. The competition offers the students a real-life experience while putting their academic credentials to a vital test. The challenge will offer students an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to interview three gold mining company CEOs about the current and projected financial strength of their company and decide whether they belong on anyone’s tier one client list. There are currently six teams registered for the GGC, coming from Ontario, Quebec and the United States, all competing for shares worth the equivalent of four ounces of gold in the company they recommend as an investment. Tickets to attend the final round of presentations by the competitors (free of charge) and the awards gala ($80) are currently available through the GGC website www.Laurentian.ca/GoodmanSchoolOfMines/ggc/. For more information on the Goodman Gold Challenge, visit the website or contact Eric Lavergne-Giroux, GGC event co-ordinator at goodmangoldchallenge@laurentian.ca.
