QUEBEC – SNC-Lavalin has been awarded a contract by Goldcorp subsidiary Opinaca Mines to provide project management, detailed engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for the Éléonore gold project, located in the James Bay region, 350 km north of Matagami.

SNC-Lavalin's scope of work includes the engineering and design of the 7,000-t/d mineral processing plant, all plant infrastructure, tailings management facilities, a permanent camp, service buildings and facilities, and an industrial water treatment plant.

Detailed engineering has commenced at SNC-Lavalin's offices in Montreal, Vancouver and Quebec City. Construction activities have been initiated and are expected to conclude by the end of Q3 2014.
